Google Voice Callback v0.10.1 is out!

A quick update. What's new in v0.10.1?

  • Now you can choose from multiple callback numbers when making a call (just select multiple callback numbers in the settings). Let me know if this works well!
  • minor fixes for those who donated via Paypal (thanks!)

Enjoy!

Please developer, can you remove or make more discrete the "PayPal Donate Button" in the donate version. This make no sense to have a donate button in a donate app. Just a link at the bottom will be correct. Thank you for your great app, I use it every day. It's why I ask you this request because it's not looking good to have this button each time I open your app.

Any chance we can have a connected to wifi callback option? When I am out of my house, I have gv callback my mobile number; however when I am home (where I do not have reception) I would want gv to callback gtalk which is routed to voip. Would be great to be able to specify a default callback number and specify a different number when connected to Sufi. This would make the app 100% in my book. Thanks for your work!

@Stephane: will consider it. You may still donate with a donate app though :)

@Mark: Have you looked into the integration with either Locale or Tasker app? You can easily accomplish what you want with either of the apps mentioned and the plugin included in Google Voice Callback.

GV callback is not working after the v0.10.2 update. I have nexus s with tmobile. After registering, it is waiting for google to call back. Nothing happens. Any suggessions.

@Randy: nothing in the update affects callback. Have you tried uninstalling then install again?

Any chance of getting this on the Xoom WiFi only edition? I was using this previously on my cell phone and now want to use the tablet for everything.

Hi x -

Does this app use text messages (specifically, receiving texts from 6785615012 each time you place a callback)? I am seeing lots of received texts from this number and I'm not sure what else it could be from. If so, I'd suggest that you mention this fact prominently in the app description since not everyone has unlimited texts in their phone plans. Also, can you link to documentation of the google voice API that you are using so that I can better understand what's happening "under the hood"?

Thanks for your hard work!

Can this app no longer be used to make free calls with the use of SIP apps? looks like google has squashed this concept?

Thanks,

This is such a fantastic app, I spent a week struggling with SIP software/services before I finally got the right combination for what I wanted. Then, the only thing missing was to be able to log in remotely and call out via GV. And voila! Your app supplies the key ingredient to make it all work seamlessly. Keep it up!

Dear Sir,
Many of my phone numbers have extensions included; these are prefaced by a comma or semi-colon - as done by the phone. Is it possible to have GVC exclude any digits following an "x", "," or ";" (perhaps even a "W" or a "P") - which are common delimiters on most phones. Currently, when GVC sends all digits (including extensions) GV gives me a message that "this number is not available for callback." Having the option of excluding numbers after a delimiter would be most helpful.
THANKS for your consideration! I love your product and use it 99.8% of the time!

The app was working great, but now when you toggle it on, there is no prompt for the call to use google call back. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same results.

Awesome app!

I noticed you integrate with Sipdroid and CSipSimple, IE start them before initiating the callback. Any chance you could enhance this for Gingerbread SIP support to?

IE, before callback, set Call Settings -> Internet Call Settings -> Accounts -> Receive Incoming Calls to checked/ON and when the call completes to unchecked/OFF. This would save some battery life for those only using SIP for outgoing calls through GV callback.
